Nonna Maria is happy to welcome you in the heart of the old country house, right on the square of Comeglio, a small village in the middle of the hills of Moneglia.
Time ago, this house, where our granny Maria grew up, gave room to two chambers, where our ancestors both kept the harvested potatoes (the "room of the potatoes"), and where they used to let season the cheese and the seats to be planted the following year (the "room of cheese and seats"). Moreover there were the room where the sharecropper Anacleto lived (the "room of Anacleto"), the room where the women of the village got together to bake bread and cakes ("the oven room"), the rustic kitchen where, generation after generation, the grandmothers used to cook for their large families. Finally there were the dining room, furnished simply with a large table and the old kneading trough where the bread was leavened, and the bedrooms of who was living in the house.
Today, the house Nonna Maria does not include the whole property of the old times, and is divided into two floors.
The entry is at the first floor, following a 10-step staircase made of traditional slate (Ligurian stone). Our granny Maria told us that it was thanks to those steps, that she learned how to count.
The entrance leads directly to the living-/dining room, from which you have access to the newly renovated open kitchen on a higher level. From the dining room, by the means of a marble staircase, you can reach the second floor.
Here the "oven room" and the "room of cheese and seats" have become double rooms with queen sized beds.
Next to the rooms you can find the bathroom in traditional Italian style, which completes the upper floor.
From the "oven room" you have access to a charming terrace between the authentic tile roofs; the perfect place to have delicious breakfasts or "aperitivi", while having a view over the valley and the sea.
We are happy to welcome you and hope that you will have the chance to enjoy the silence of these magic and windy hills, only a couple of km away from the sea.

Nonna Maria is situated right in the main square of Comeglio, a charming and picturesque village in the middle of the Ligurian hills, with less than four kilometres distance to the sea.
Staying in Comeglio allows to unite the hectic of a beach vacation with the silence and coolness of the Ligurian hinterland.
Nonna Maria can be reached by car, with a possible free parking space in front of the house. A second parking space may be available in the centre of Moneglia, 150 meters from the beach.
